Default K-drill or Pistol bit?

Was thinking k-drill, but pistol bit might be easier to sharpen?? Which one should I get?

I'd choose the Eskimo Pistol Bit as well.

It's lighter (3.9 #'s) and the auger length (40") is longer than the K Drill. The Pistol Bit 8" model bores a true 8" hole vs. 7.5" for the K Drill.

Another item to be aware of is that the newer Pistol Bit models (#35600) now come with a centering point vs. the older models that didn't have this feature, which caused the drill to walk a little when first starting to drill a hole.

I was trying to decide between the two and came across the Strikemaster Lite Flite. Cheaper and some reviews preferred it to the above mentioned. I picked one up at the Fishin Hole in Edm and it’s been great. It’s almost too easy

I see Cabelas now makes a drill bit for significantly cheaper.... might wait for the reviews

It went on sale for $100 earlier in the season and sold out quick! Can't go wrong at that price, especially since it comes with a nice case.

I have had no problems just using a cheap used hand auger with my hammer drill. Added a frisbee just in case the chuck comes loose. Saves a lot of money.

Strike Master Lite Flite FTW. Light, sturdy and cuts like a hit knife.... Ah you get it!

Best blade design of the 3 (can't speak on the Cabela's version).

The cabelas drill is actually the HT enterprise E-drill. Which is 180usd. I had the chance to try cabelas Eze drill and it cut like butter. Even at full price I think it’s a better value then kdrill and pistolbit. At 99+gst it was a steal.
