Default Any Birders on here? Looking for a bird call App

I always have clients ask me to identify bird calls on the trail... Can any one recommend a decent bird call app? I've scrolled through the offerings, but not sure which one is better then the others? Do any of them work in the field without wifi?

Thanks,

Peter

I have the Audubon bird app. Pretty good with calls for each species. Works with no Wifi.

Sibley Birds is very good. I believe its a $15 app though. Works really good with a wireless Bluetooth speaker.

I have both Sibley Birds and iBird Pro. IBird has better sounds but I find Sibley is easier to use. You might find some other ideas on ebird.org.

Cornell is great for bird ifno and calls. They probably have an app.

Hello Pete.

whatbird.com has an app. My sister uses it and it's fairly good.
I don't use apps.

I prefer to access information via google, which is available via my cell.

My favorite is Bird-Sounds.net

I've heard of the other apps already mentioned and to the best of my knowledge, they are good apps.

That being said, no app will provide you with a positive identification 100 percent of the time.
Bird calls are quiet variable and many sound similar to other species.

Best of luck! And keep in mind, even the experts, researchers and such, have trouble identifying some species at times.

Roger that!

Don't need 100% accuracy but will not have wifi so will need an app.

There are a couple of flower ones as well, where you can take a photo of the flower and it will tell you what iflower is (I know quite a few of the more common ones, but this will help me identify some of the others - I just need to decide which one)

Thanks for all of your input!

Cheers,

P
