Default Canada Customs is turning things away

Is anyone else experiencing this? The last two reloading tool items I've ordered from the US have been returned by Canada Customs. And it looks like a third is on the way back. These are simple reloading tools that are not restricted in any way. It has cost me a small fortune in shipping and exchange. The frustrating part is that you cannot get ahold of anyone. Or at least I can't find a way to. To be clear, this is Canadian customs not the US side.

In the meantime, other items are coming across just fine. Hunting-related items.

Can you be more specific please.
Were the two returned items in the same shipment?
What were the items?
Were there other goods in the same shipment?
Who was the shipper?
Is the possibly returned third item from the same shipper?
Postage or courier?

Good Luck, YMMV.

Two separate packages. No other goods. I ordered an anneal rite. I requested no tempilaq. The vendor said he has never seen this before. I had him send it twice and both times it was returned. Canada Post

I haven't ordered too much from the US, I used to travel a ton with my rifle. I would go overseas or into the US a few times a year and never had a issue coming back with my rifle and ammo. One time I did have some perfectly legal supplements get stuck at customs that were coming in from Germany. I contacted Blake Richards - MP and it was on its way a day later.

I haven't recieved any orders recently. The last was a couple of months ago.

But I just ordered more parts from Numrich so we'll see in a couple of weeks.

Canada Post has been jammed up by the union’s rotating strikes so they’ve been refusing international packages seemingly randomly since October. That’s probably your issue.

This was before strike and Canada Post did not receive the parcel. Customs turned it back.

This was my first thought also ,Anneal Rite is just metal parts without the Tempilaq.

Chuck I can't help you out with Customs but have a look at this.
This is a DIY of an anneal rite. Doesn't look that hard to make.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1uPlbB6LHKE

I made one using Skip's design of an annealer. Works good.

I had some choke tubes held for a couple of weeks, but after calling a few numbers that I found online, I managed to reach a supervisor at the facility, and the parcel was back on it's way the same day.

In July! I didn't realize it was that long ago. I have received a couple of orders since then, both from Numrich, both gun parts.

Maybe it's the shipper. I ran into that last year with a shipment from Brownells. They would not ship claiming Canada customs wouldn't allow their product through the border.
I re-ordered the same product from another supplier and it came with no issues.

The closest thing to a gun store that we have tells me they have been having issues obtaining shooting related products. They didn't say what the issues were, only that they couldn't get products I know others are getting.
The specific product I asked about was gun powder. The owners response indicated that it and other products were very hard for them to obtain.

I didn't probe for further details but now I'm wondering if again it was the suppliers address that was the issue.

Thanks for the info, I am about to order from Brownells, PT&G, and Shars.

I have had legal 10rd AICS magazines from Brownells 'detained' (but not seized) by CBSA.
IMHE, Brownells has an excellent export desk.

Good Luck, YMMV.

I always order it to a shipping outlet in Montana. At the border storage or Montana shipping outlet. That goes for truck parts, quads, bikes just about everything including reloading tools. Between 4 or 5 friends and family members someone is at the border every week or 2 for pickup.

My dad used to work as office manager for a MP and if an issue was brought forward by a constituent it was looked into.

Do not be afraid to contact your MP if having issues with federal agencies. This applies to PAL issues as well.

Remember you MP works for you !

Then somebody at customs is ****ing up. If it is illegal they seize it. If it is legal they let it through. They can't just refuse to process a parcel and send it back.

There should have been some type of letter sent to you if they took action with your mail.

I ordered a defiance deviant action through a dealer in February. It arrived at customs in July and sat there for a month and then was returned to defiance machine. My dealer contacted Defiance and they explained what happened. The action was then sent again and sat in customs for 2 months before it was sent. I received the action in January.

one of the main reasons to have a package turned back is the shipper didn't fill out paper properly, and or lac of information, like phone# of receiver, postal code missing, etc. Of course the shipper never admits this.

Ordered from Natchez, RCBS chargemaster lite and Lyman gunsmith block. Shipped nov 29, ready for pickup yesterday, opened by customs, picked up today and at home! I’m happy with the delivery time due to customs and Canada Posts rotating strikes!

Go figure, I have an order from X-reload that has been in Cgy since Monday, first day was a "misroute", been "on the truck" since then, still hasn't been del'd by Canpar. I'm suspecting it is lost, I wonder where they misrouted it to... Have to call them in AM to see what they know about it.

My order still sits at customs. I called the MP’s office Wednesday and have heard nothing back.

That’s why I order to the border, and free shipping usually. Sick and tired of CBSA.

Does make you wonder doesn't it. Seems like CBSA folk have some weird things going on there.
Turns out the Canpar driver remembered me telling him what time I went to work, he held that parcel in the truck all week as he couldn't get here in time. He tried yesterday and didn't make it, missed me by 10min he said.. Delivered that and another shipment today at noon. Saturday delivery yet.
