I bought a used 223 FL sizing die from a forum member and it looked to be in good shape. However when I tried to size a case the brass came out with grooves/scratches. Upon further inspection there is corrosion and light pitting on the inside of the die. Any advise on how to smooth it out inside?
You can try Kroil on a bronze brush to remove rust. I have also seen brass deposited in dies cause by people not using enough lube, and I was able to remove it with a brush and JB bore paste..

Thanks for the advice guys. I didnt have the products you mentioned. So I put G96 on a .375 bronze brush and polished with the drill for a few minutes. I guess it knocked the rust down because I sized 10 cases with no scratches or grooves. However I can still see the rust stains when you look into the die with a light. I'll pick up the products you mentioned and see if that can fully get rid of the rust.
There is a spray product called rust converter that is a truly great thing. I've actually used this on dies. Let it do its thing then polish out the die.
