Default June Canoe Trip Whitecourt

Hi guys,
I'm thinking of doing a Canoe trip from Whitecourt to Smith on the Athabasca. Can anybody tell me how long it should take and where the best places to stop for the night are?
Trip should be early June.

Check this link out.

Click on the "table of contents" and scroll down to "Whitecourt to Ft. Assiniboine". Looks like some literature you could use. I've canoed from Hinton to W/C and from Edson to W/C, both during May long weekends. High water on both trips, especially through Pelican Rapids on our second trip. The Athabasca can be an easy float or a deadly journey, so plan well and have a safe trip.

Thanks Backpacker. I checked it out and it gives me a bunch of distances that I can plan around.

Are you keeping this private or could some other peopl tag along? I am actually off that first weekend in June and thinking my 14 yr old daughter and her friend and dad and I MIGHT be able to make it. Just curious.

More the merrier I think. I'm hoping that some of the guys that canoe this in hunting season will chime in and give me a good idea of time and camping spots. As for the date, now that I have a work schedule in front of me its looking like May Long Weekend, or later in June.
I'll keep you posted when I know more
