Default "Union suit"

My son was home to go hunting with me on the week-end. He was quite proud of his red flannel "union suit" but didn't care for the sideways "trap door" in the behind. He kind of thought it was a new kind of garment but I told him it had been around for a long time.

Out hunting Sunday morning I had an urgent urge and I am glad I was in my "non-union suit".

I hope no one was offended by this post, there is no intention to do so.

No offense taken here!

Even when I do wear the suit... I don't trust the flap/slit and wind up taking the whole piece down anyway...

I like the 'no gaps' in long underwear... but sometimes there is a hassle factor!

That and... and not trying to be gross here... but I can't seem to be able to **** and poop seperately. My body want to do both concurrently. And that don't work well with the use of the flap only.

Ya.. i know.. too much info!

Always wondered why they call it a Union suit ? Organized labor have something to do with this ? The uniform of the common working man ?

I would imagine that it's because it's in one piece.

Not Me.

Must be a colloquailism from somewhere.

Just like when you step over the border into B.C.

Terms like Klooxh, Hydro, and Chuk, Chux, are not common in Alberta.

The term is used in the novel "To Kill A Mockingbird," I believe. I've certainly heard it, and used it.

To Kill a Mockingbird is an excellent piece of literature.

But old greylyns kills Raven birds, Crow birds, Holstein Chicken Birds, Coyote Birds, but not whitetail birds out of the kitchen window in his "union suit".

Hmm. Cal. Do you think there may be correlation between Wife Beater shirts and the "Death of a Salesman"?

I've never heard it called a "union suit" just red underwear. I quit wearing them years ago after too many of them got the back panel ripped right off of them. Who puts buttons on an emergency flap?
Anyways, one of our hunting crew, my friends dad and our camp leader saved up these things for 20 years wanting to get a couple of "specific pictures" for his photo album. He had collected them for years at second hand clothing stores just for this occasion.

So at the end of a hunt on a sunny september morning in Tungsten, NWT we captured these photos.

This thread reminded me of them. These are digital pics of the original film pics so they may be a bit off.

The whole point of the photos was for everyone to have a saggy butt just like the old days to make it humorous. Of course I was the last one to get a pair and all that was left was a set of L and I wear XL. Needless to say I looked ridiculous with my skin tight super hero underwear on next to the saggy butt brigade.

We laughed our butts off through the whole thing ............good times.

Sorry for the assault on the eyes, and no fish were pee'd on in the making of this film.
