Default Question on Leupold Duplex Reticle

Does anyone know what is the angular measurement in a standard Leupold Duplex reticle from the center cross hairs to the top of the post? My guesstimate is about 6 MOA?

Depends on which model of leupold scope and which power. A 6x is rougly 9moa from heavy plex to heavy plex.

I would measure it only way to know for sure. Set up a board at 100 yards with 1” marks. And its probably second focal plane so it will change with the selected power.

8.1/1.047 = 7.7 MOA.

That might actually be correct because on a LRD, the MOA measurement between the center of the reticle and the top of the post is 7.8
MOA....

My bad.
8.1 inches is the length of the narrow opening at 7x

FYI, at 2x the narrow opening is 21.3 inches

Leupold's Website has the exact measurements for each scope and reticle type if you want them.

I had to email Leupold customer service to find out. For a 2-8 the thin post is 4 MOA at max power.

IMO, they don't make it easy to find. If you have a better source than this could you post it. Please and thanks.

From the 2018 catalogue. Reticle info is close to the end.

The info on the vx-1 that I posted is from an earlier catalogue.

Catalogue is where I find it too. They used to have a list on the site for all reticles new and old but it isn't there nay more. Maybe if a few of us email them they will put it back.

IMHO, this is the best and ONLY way to have confidence.

Incorrect reticles can be installed at the factory and/or changed later.
Reticle specs and/or suppliers can be changed in model production runs,
and can be incorrectly reported in catalogs and websites.

There can also be issues of magnification and/or parallax setting from the factory and/or changed later.

Measurement and verification at a measured range is easy and free, and can be done during barrel cool down between shots,
and is also a good opportunity to verify a range finder.

Good Luck, YMMV.

Looks like we may get an easier spot to find this info. Got this from Leupold

Hello-

Hopefully that will be remedied soon we are currently working on a more comprehensive information for the website. If there is something that you would like in the mean time I will do my best to help.

Thank you

You used to have spot on your site that listed all of the various
reticles and their substensions. Now the only place you can find that
info is in the catalogue, and it only includes current
reticles/scopes, not past ones no longer made. It would be very useful
to a lot of us if you put that back on the site for all scopes. I see
questions on this on many forums.
