Default Road Sanctuary

Can we trap marten and snare wolves within a road santuary? Advise welcome as I am a 2nd year junior and have already asked the boss too many stupid questions... Lol

A road sanctuary on a registered line ? I've never heard you can't but F&W could likely clear that one up for you.

I talked with f&W and trapping is allowed, just not hunting.

to me it is a part of trapping. But the action of shooting an animal may cause confusion... if I were in the situation of the OP id ask to be sure. But like I said, to me it is a part of trapping, not hunting.

Are there any CO's here that could chime in?

Right now we are not snaring or packing firearms at all. Just marten sets, but thats awful slow, so would love to snag a few dogs out of the pack that runs the road... Im thinking snare pole as discussed in another thread or throw a jacket over and use the back side of my axe to dispatch if the snare doesnt doo the job first... Yikes
