Awesome pics Jawa! Whats up with the tail on that yote? I've never seen that before, then again, I never have trapped. Is this common?

Yesterday i went and set 15 new snares on some trails and fence crossings and a couple footholds in an area I havent trapped yet this year. Managed to snag 3 in the snares and 1 in a foothold overnight. Was a good day, brought my dad with me for the check, he doesnt make it out into the bush much anymore, so was great to spend the day out there with him.

You bet! Got 24 airing out right now. Will be hanging them this week....wanted to give them a few days outside before hanging them as you suggested. They all got spots already, lol, seems like this area i have been ignoring so far will produce pretty good so they'll be going there. How was the wolf hunting? When I saw you posted I was hoping to see some pics of dead wolves!!

Thanks for the explanation. I did not recognize that as mange. I have seen mange before but only on the shoulders and around the neck. Learn something every day.

Awesome pictures everyone! Love seeing the pictures of the dogs!

Over the past week I have brought my squirrel count up to 7 on multiple poles, snaring squirrels is a lot of fun!

Weasels are constantly getting out of the rat traps with all my bait, that has been a little annoying, just re baiting and hoping for the best, one even left a crap outside my box after he filled up

Early check this morning, got two more squirrels today!
Also, I know it is not as relevant, but these hares are not as easy to snare as most make it out to be, got my first one today after about a month, finally got one on a well traveled route that has been dead for a while.

That's all I have for now, hoping to see some more pictures!

Nick

Fly I am sending you some Conibears with your box of stuff. Make a marten box and use my coni's with pans on for the weasel. Game over for them

I actually trap in southern Manitoba just a few miles from the us border. I got a new bait site this year in a more treed area and all the coyotes I caught there were really dark. I really like the look of them too.

I figured you just really liked rams, but now that i see your from Manitoba makes perfect sense why every pic has one in a ram. Just curious, how many snare sets do you run? For me, I know the having to use rams would definitely limit what i could afford to put out. Great looking yotes too by the way!

I own 49 coyote Rams, and I wish I had a lot more. With 8 baits this year I'm limited to 6 sets per bait.
Here in Manitoba they are reviewing the use of common snares, so hopefully in the near future I can use them too.
I love Rams, but wouldn't mind using both.

Spruce that marten needed to talk to his mom. She may have been playing around with a rabbit. On the more serious note nice marten.

Im sure yotes coloured like this are frequent in other parts of the province, but I usually only get one every year or 2 that looks like this in my area. Picked her up today, probably a keeper for the skinning room wall. Usually they're alot blacker/rustier looking in my area.
