Default Heading to the bush today

So after shooting all summer, (warmer controlled conditions) how many of you also check your accuracy with a practise target once in the bush? 50 yards? 100 yards? I always do it - a buddy, never. Yet he still has outstanding results. Just curious.

I try to shoot the day before the season opens to confirm the scope is zero'd. I do not have the luxury of target practice once I am in the hunting area if the season is open unless I am shooting at an animal. There have been occasions where I have discovered the scope got bumped and the only option is to finish the hunt with open sights. I would prefer if I could fire a shot every morning but thats not an option unless I want to scare away all the game.

I shoot all year round, the only time my poi changes is when I adjust my sights. I can take any one of my big game rifles and confidently shoot at an animal on any given day.

If I happen to be target shooting just before a hunt it’s by chance, not to verify accuracy.

I don't hunt big game, but always check zero/practice before spring groundhogs. I was out on the long weekend coyote hunting with the same rifle and for the first time in it's life, it took a good bump. The scope on it is the best quality I've ever owned so I THINK it should have held zero just fine...but I won't hunt with it again until I know it has.

Even varmints deserve a quick demise.
