Default 243

I have shot lots of deer with a .243 but for big deer much prefer .25 calibre and up.

shot my whitetail buck this year with my new to me 243 . There was tracking involved but I blame the shot placement as it took a step when I pulled the trigger . I like the lighter gun for hiking the hills but will only be using for deer.

Default WT and Mulie this fall

You bet JPL - Nice wt buck and a mulie doe were very dead very fast las November. The WT was a 248 yd shot and the mulie was just under 100. He went 30 yds, she dropped in her tracks - 80 gn Barnes Vortex TSX. Awesome deer caliber, next to no recoil.

Love my 243 for deer. Even took a 5 pt bull elk with it while deer hunting 2 years ago.

I used a .300WM as did my friends this last season. 3 deer got neck shots and nearly lost their heads! Id like to see a 60 yard shot with a RUM

OP .243 is fantastic for mulie and WT. Easy to find, light recoil etc.

A great cartridge will kill everything in North America with a high end bullet and perfectly place shot. My wife and daughter would love one

I used to hunt deer with a .243 and 100 gr. Nosler Partitions. This combination accounted for a good number of deer. There was always lots of damage inside. Hard to beat the tried and true Nosler Partition.

My cousin would use a 243 on deer for years. Treated him well.
