Meh.

It's $3.00. Not anything for me to get excited about.

Maybe at least now they will have the money to clear out all those widowmakers that smash tents when the wind blows.

The large amounts to pay for the screw ups are called income tax, or photo radar tickets at 6km/h and over.

$3.00 is not even worth crying aboout

You mean there is 245 in Alberta ? What ever happened to the ones that they closed. Did they ever sell the land? I know of two east of Edmonton that are just sitting there getting over grown. Gotta pay more for less services. Just a start of greater things to come.

Sounds like a slippery slope. Death by a thousand cuts.

Does anyone know what the Wildrose campground critic says about this?

Maybe this will make some 'responsible' campers go to the 'free' areas and help keep them clean. Instead of having lots of separation, now they can be parked side by each just like a campground.

Except for a couple long week-ends, I don't see many in the campgrounds I go to, so maybe some better selection.

I do understand the death by a thousand cuts analogy though. Money is going to start coming in from all over the place, this is likely just the beginning so as to alleviate the need to tax the populace. Maybe I'll just start to do what the neighbors kids do and pitch a tent in the back yard, or get off my butt and find a chunk of land to go camping on.

It is to me, the alternative is called hiking which I do too much of. It's sometimes nice to have a cooler full 'o bevies and a nearby lake or river to douse off in.

They are really looking hard in the chesterfield to find those nickels and dimes.

We all know that the extra three dollars won't be used to fund campgrounds. It will be piddled away on some vote getting expenditure. I wonder why they did not increase the hotel tax. I think we know why.

What about hunting and fishing licences for this year. What are the going to cost?

And what about booze and smokes?
