Default Adc beaver carcasses

I just got ahold of some beavers that were trapped under Adc conditions. The fur is useless to skin! I am planning on using these as trapline bait! I was wondering if I am required to skin them before use? The hide has no value!

I'd call the SRD on that one.

No. They do not need to be skinned.

Called srd twice. Left my number. No call back. I know it is a busy season for them, that's why I thought I would ask here

I just got a few myself. I called my fish cop in the area of my line and told him that I had some with fur on like that and he said thanks for the heads up.

Just got a call from f&w. It is not legal! He has given me 2 weeks to remove the hides and bring them into f&w! Said the carcass is not a problem , however the hide is!

Hey Mark, It is not uncommon with fur and feathers,in this case for the right hand not to know what the left hand is doing.. If they are unsure, they will always err on the side of NO. I have encountered this scenerio a number of times, so am not blowing smoke your way. Myself, I would scape of some hide at least....even if it were a strip off the back....don't take long to do that.
From my point of view, I think it would be illegal to bait with a fully dressed beav., but out of curiosity, I'm going to ask the locals and see what happens..

Rookie CO. Ask him if you have to skin a mangy coyote?

You are not allowed to waste marketable hides but if these are true early season ADC beavers I'm thinking the CO has made an error. Personally I've used many many summer beavers given to me by the county predation officer with no issues.

Why would you have to keep the skin when beavers are considered pests and can be trapped year round even by a non licensed person?

Don't think the CO knows what he is talking about - which is not unheard of.....

if a co said that to me about a coyote i'd drop the whole thing off and he could bother with it.

something isn't adding up maybe beavers and coyotes are treated different
