Default Canadian tire bs

Called Canadian tire in Lethbridge today about purchasing an sks. They told me all Canadian tires in canada have frozen all sales of the sks due to the Las Vegas shooting and the bump stock....i told her that they were already prohibited in canada ( bump stock) and what does a shooting in another country have to do with us?.she had no answers.wtf?
Anyone else had this happen recently?

Agree but to think a CT employee will have the answers for a corporate policy is expecting a bit much.

I also find the response by the employee mildly hilarious.

Because of an incident, with an entirely different firearm, the SKS is no longer sold by one supply chain out of many?

Well the woman at the counter or customer services should have directed you to someone who could have answered the questions and tell, you to have a nice day.

Good ‘ol Newfie Speed and Sport. I gave up long time ago trying to get someone in the store up here to answer the simplest of questions... Although this store is even more special than most.

There's probably nobody in the store, most of the department managers officemanagement included who would know or care. Staff just respond to memos sent from head office in Ontario. They don't ask questions, just do what they are told. The store owner might know maybe even the store manager might know if he questioned the memo as to why they were not being sold but that is doubtful unless he/she had an interest in guns. In most Canadian tires the managers are more worried about getting the isle end displays prepared for the next sale. Our local CT sells guns but nobody there knows anything about them, have no interest and treat them as a pain, everytime someone wants ammo or to buy a gun they have to drop what they are doing, find someone authorized and who has a key, stand there with the customer and wait till while they kick tires, decide if they are going to buy it, check their paperwork then walk them up to the front and stand in line with them until they are checked through. Employees avoid the gun section like the plague. If they see you come into look at guns they disappear.

Who....?

Yeah, yeah, I know who and what they are, but in my mind that's another company that "doesn't exist" - like chrysler and their garbage-ey products.

Huh, I use it, why? because they have some of the best deals, not loyal to any outlet just my wallet.

Bit of a hike but I'd bet the gun section staff in the RMH store could answer most of them Positrac.

They've got about as good a gun section as any other shop in Alberta and knowledgeable staff as well.

In our Cdn Tire, an employee has to do this with any item that is kept in a locked display case - small electronics like GPS units, for instance.

Same. Good place to buy an oil filter, or cheap tool sets when they’re on sale, or even just a pair of windshield wipers. Guns? Eh...

Uh, do you think the anti-gun lobby is only going after companies that produce the particular firearms that were used in Las Vegas? Come on, smell the coffee my friend.

And as for the other concerns about buying from CT, I've bought firearms there before. Why wouldn't I? The only variable I consider when buying a firearm is price. If the Bay Cosmetics Department sold a Sako for $5 less than Cabelas, I'd buy it from the nice smelling lady. I don't need the "expertise" of the guy behind the firearms counter.

My point was that it is laughable that CT stopped selling SKS’s. I wonder if they will claim to have saved lives in an upcoming advertising campaign.
