Minor deal. I had issues, but I was in university at the time and didn't want to miss a day of classes. Felt ok, so I took Advil and walked to the bustop, then all over campus. Not a good plan.

For what your wife went through, this is so minor. When you get it done, play it up good though to get some mileage out of it!

I know it’s not the same as castration, but I’d hate to end up like a fixed Tom cat , fat and lazy

Had it done with the scalpel 18 years ago.
Back to work, gently, that afternoon.
Bag of frozen peas and took it easy for a couple days.
No problem since.

But, it’s not for the shy.
Had about half a dozen students in the room with my junk hanging out while waiting for the freezing.
Surrounding the bed talking about their summer vacation plans. 😂🤦*♂️

Had it done a couple years ago. Can't say it was an enjoyable experience. Pretty sure the nut cords are attached to the back of your eyes as I found out when the doctor started pulling on them.

Doctor had a pretty good sense of humor looking back. About half way through he tells me "Relax! Your sucked up tighter than a bulls ass in fly season!"
Easily said coming from the guy that does't have a needle in his nut cord!

Few days of sitting on the couch and all was good. Just be very careful going up and down stairs for a few days.

Now I put all kinds of pucks on net and don't worry about scoring!

You should know better than to ask other guys about vasectomies. They'll all BS and tell you how horrifying a procedure it is to scare you.

Honestly, it's much ado about nothing. I had the non scalpel years ago. 10 minutes total. Took my son to an Oiler game that night. Boys were a little achy the next day driving to G Cache but nothing a Tylenol didn't fix. A little tender for a couple of days then nothing.

In all seriousness you've got a better chance of maiming yourself shaving your junk for prep. The only downside for me was having nurse Ratchett assisting. I didn't ask her for a happy ending.

Look on the bright side. You'll never have to buy a leaf blower again.

Now man up and ignore the horror stories. Buncha pansies.

I guess those trips to emergency and morphine drip was all imaginary...

I believe in the statistics and the vast majority of guys do just fine, but because you're experience was a cake walk doesn't mean that some of us didnt have very different results.

Not so bad. Didn’t miss a beat. But pain lingered for some time. Nothing to bad to handle but annoying. Did the follow up and what do ya know it didn’t take. Doc said I’m still firing with a loaded gun. Then the worry set in. Well what in the hell did the doc cut. Was it something important. Is that where my pain came from. Still have not rebooked.

In my case a botched no scalpel vasectomy resulted in a rogue Spermatocele that formed so large it was tennis ball sized it easily dwarfed the other 2 balls and made it impossible to ride a bike or wear briefs.18 months to resolve and now hard scar tissue gives painful twinges during sex. Doc said Oops and I paid the price for this completely safe-no big deal procedure done about 10 years ago.Ultrasounds and urologists visits and was scheduled for surgery after one year of goodly pain and embarrassment.
Similar to the pic.

Wife got whacked in conjunction with the birth of our last child. I didn't even know she was going to do it. Ruined my potential chance at a soprano career in the choir, but I'm still a third line bass so it's not all bad.

They were talking about their "needless/scalpel-less procedure"
Now in my mind I'm thinking burdizzo!!
I ask and she talks about cutting a cord...Wait...
I ask "If you don't use a scalpel, how do you get in there?"
She says "well, it's like a scalpel but not as sharp"
WHAT!!! NOPE.
I got dizzy just thinking about it and ended up cutting the visit short.
This was a while back (over a year).

Now I should have mentioned my one phobia is doctors and dentists.

Thinking about this again.

What procedure did you get done and how fun was it?
Anyone try the "needless/scalpel-less procedure"?

Dentist is way worse, took 11 minutes, other than small ***** from freezing iit was easy. So easy if i had known i would have done it in high school. Of course then i wouldnt hhave 4 wallet draining crap factories. I highly recomend it.

Had mine hassle and pain free 27 years ago. Got the wife to agree if I was shooting blanks with one gun I would purchase one that shot loaded. Booked the appointment and then went to the local gun shop and bought my first pistol. Everybody wins.

Castration is removal of the testicles.
Quite different than a vasectomy.
Believe me, I castrated many animals in my life.

I was just going to PM the Op but thought someone else reading might get insight. Female IUD making a big comeback in contraception, they have other benefits as well. Food for thought.

Thanks.

That's actually where I got the term from.
On more than one occasion we'd be right in the middle of castrating hogs and the wife would shoot me a smile and say "your next".

I understand the difference but in my mind it will be a similar process.

Have it done on a Friday during your favourite sport season, spend time on the couch ,buy 2 bags of frozen peas changed regularly over two days while watching TV,(especially Friday)no lifting, minimal walking,Monday you're good to go.
These were the instructions from my Doc,worked perfect,no pain at all during or after.Maybe I just got lucky.

My Brother got the same instructions from his Doc,but what do Docs know ,right? He says, was nothing to it ,I'm going back to work,he says....
He had 2 grape fruits next afternoon,my SIL had them cradled in both hands while he was howling and begging her not to move them, don't let them hold the weight..hang on...don't squeeze them...cup them...pleeeeeease....
I laughed so hard I cried, literally ,tears running down my cheeks, while he was telling me a couple days later.

Ok, I laughed right out loud. Post of the thread, maybe of the month!

The only thing I can add to the thread, is that while I was having mine done I told the doctor a joke, while he was doing something down there, and when he laughed, the tugging was excruciating, all the way into my gut.

Don't tell jokes.

My doc probably had a more substantial target to aim at vs the Toonie competition.

You get the toonie shooter looking your way, you're in big trouble. He's the real deal, just ask him

I got it done 18 yrs ago now. Minor discomfort at best. Nurse handed me a plastic cup on my way out and said “bring in a sample after 35 ejaculations”. I said with my best poker face “see you next week”. First time I ever saw a woman roll her eyes completely into the back of her head. Two days later I was climbing scaffold again. Found it to be no big deal.

People have died having a tooth extraction or a tonsillectomy,
All surgeries have a chance of going wrong...vasectomies are one of the safest surgeries there is.
I was present for both my sons birth...I'd rather have a dozen vasectomies than what she went through giving birth (our first was a 34 hour labor).
Recent studies have shown women do have a higher pain threshold, though most here will argue that I'm sure. https://nypost.com/2019/01/11/women-...han-men-study/

Not a big deal. A little discomfort for a day or two. I sure had myself worked up to expect a lot more then what actually happened. The examination table paper was soaked through with sweat from anxiety. Glad that’s over with.

Heck yes! Going to try this tonight before the wife says she wants kids again.... I’m gonna be 40 soon and I’m selfish.
