Little bit, but planned. Just was hoping I'd get a few more months of practice shooting first before hitting the target! It's kinda fun... But we're not getting any younger, so happy as well.
And thanks to all!

First kick at the cat! Kinda disappointed (but really not), as being strongly encouraged to kick cats daily, or twice daily has it's upsides!
Thanks all again

Congrats man. Being a dad is the best.
I’d like to share a story with you. It’s kinda long-winded but nobody has ever not enjoyed it; so I’ll share.
I was 32 when my first was born. Neither the wife nor I was worried or anxious at all. She developed blood clots while pregnant and had to go on blood thinners. So they had to take her off a week before then they induce labour. So we have an appointment to have the kid.
So we go in that morning and she just didn’t want to be born. So after several hours they performed an emergency c section. So they hand me my brand new daughter and kick me out of the surgery room. Well it felt like 40 tons was thrown on my shoulders in that instance. They show me to the room where my wife will be brought to.
It was a room with 4 other maternity patients as it was apparently a busy day for births. No other rooms left. So I’m sitting there holding my daughter waiting for the wife to get out of surgery and I’m in panic mode. A million thoughts running through the old melon.
Gotta save for college, gotta keep her safe, gotta get her the best education I can, gotta make sure I can do the best to make sure she has the best chances in this world..... the thoughts were endless.
So beside me is a 14 year old girl that just had her kid. Her 14 year old friends are there and she’s asking them, “when are guys gonna have kids?” I was rather blown away at her cavalier attitude.
Then the lady from social services came in and had a very eye opening conversation with her.
Then her probably 16 year old boyfriend came in and had to fill out some forms. The social worker hands him a clipboard with some forms he needed to fill out. Filling out his forms he stops and states, “clipboards are cool! I gotta get one to finish high school.” He said that in a rather childish/foolish manner.
Well, having witnessed this ordeal the weight was instantly lifted off of my chest. I lifted up my daughter, looked her in the eye and said to her, “Caitlin, you’ve got nothing to worry about!” I must have said it too loud, because the social worker glanced at me and chuckled.
Those two kids did more for me than any psychologist could’ve ever done for me to settle the anxiety. I realized right then and there that my kid was gonna be just fine. Perspective can be rather effective.
So just remember in October that things most likely are gonna be fine; and your kid will likely have a life many kids could only dream of.
