You clearly haven't looked anywhere. There is even 30-06 ammo at pevey mart in sherwood park, let alone every gun store in the city.

P&D has 11 varieties. Fill your boots.

Cabela's isn't noticed for keeping stock much. Just my personal perspective. Way better to support our smaller stores such as P&D.

Agreed. I just checked their website and its pretty bizarre they'd be out of 06 but it does look that way. Must have been a tourbus of 75+ year old hunters pull in and wipe them out.

Since Basspro took over that place has done a huge dive in so many ways. Wont be able to yell it from Canadian Tire soon, other than actually having staff to serve ppl.

There's quite a few calibers that I've seen out of stock in 2 Cabelas and 4 locations of Canadian tire in edmonton and sherwood park. There are even signs at the gun counter in all of those canadian tire locations stating their shortage in specific calibers. The only 30-30 I could find in the last month was at Canadian tire, and that was Nosler. Every other brand has been sold out.

Hey it’s not just 75+ year olds who shoot 30-06! In my hunting party of 8 I think all but 2 shoot a 30-06 and the oldest is mid forties. It’s hard to smear perhaps the most flexible caliber that will do in all the game animals in Alberta, good ballistic coefficients, variety of bullets, acceptable recoil, I could go on but really it doesn’t need defence!

Grew up with a 30-30, graduated to a 30-06 and has been my go to gun, never shoot much past 250 but can consistently hit the gong at 500, few years ago bought a Sako grey wolf and has been a great rifle.

So don’t bash my 30-06 or my Ford

Then would you care to explain how, on the exact same day 06 ammo became rare, there was a hard run on red & black plaid Fudd hats and suspenders?

Probably headed to Africa for a rhino...At 1000 yds.

Truth be told I have a red and black plaid jacket I wear hunting pretty regularly. I draw the line at an 06 though. I hate when the deer and elk get all uppity and giggle.

Hey red and black plaid is timeless, I don’t own any of those hats but the rest of my wardrobe has included that pattern at multiple times both past and present. You got me on the suspenders, I haven’t scratched my but off yet I haven’t neutered myself yet so I don’t own a creedmore, that being said I am considering a 338 win mag for a moose and elk gun but for now I’ll rely on the good ol 30-06, it’s taken 7 moose, 6 moose, sheep, antelope, 100+ deer so it’s done alright

Cabelas Calgary, hit or miss on most calibers except for the 6’ section of 6.5 Creedmore. They really have taken a swing at that market and seemed to have said meh to the rest

Thank god there’s still bus loads of real men around that don’t shoot plastic guns in sissy calibers.
