Default One Less Dog in The Marten Hills

Not much of a story to tell unfortunately. While whitetail hunting, a wolf popped out on the cut line at 280yds staring straight on at my wife and I. 280 rem impacted right in the nose. 140gr ELDX dropped her on the spot. No exit wound, so the hide was left in excellent shape.

This is my first wolf and the first animal taken with my 280 built by Dave Henry earlier this year.

Nice job. Congrats. I seen a nice black one on sat but it offered no shot as it trotted across the trail.

Great job, many deer will live because you got rid of this puppy factory. Plus it will make a nice hide for the wall.

First off, that is definitely not a domestic dog, second thing, there are no farms in the Martin Hills.

Nice looking wolf. Looks like it was priming up nicely. The wolf would look better on you than on the wall.

Thanks everyone. I'll be fleshing out the hide this weekend, get it on the board and have it tanned. Nothing fancy, even though I do like that hat!

Would love to get a full mount done, but living in a 1908 shotgun house doesn't allow for much room!

No Mange. Tail looks fine in person. Maybe just the way it looks in the photo.

I think it's a young one, not fully adult, I shot one about the same, this time of year. their lack of experience is their doom.
