I bought a second drum for my tumbler.

Made up a bunch more 401 brass and loaded up some in brass made from 7.62x39, some made from 360 Dan Wesson, and some made from 414 supermag brass.
Also have correct head stamped brass from Jamison and quality cartridges, so loaded some of them up.

I don't want to get into wet and pins but if I upgrade to a larger system would consider a rotary.

I think vibratory tumblers are a waste of time. I have one. I rarely use it. I only wet tumble with pins. Two hours in the tumbler after de-capping, and they are just like virgin brass. Except, that they are fire formed.

I read all sorts of combinations of dry media, shining agents, etc., etc.. All the permutations and combinations don’t match up to wet tumbling.

To each their own. There are some who would strongly disagree with me. C’est la vie.

Thanks ..... I've been using this small Lyman vibratory tumbler for yrs. It works ok (but just ok) and I'm not really bent on having my brass look like new. I just need it cleaned.

Right now I need larger capacity and will look to a rotary tumbler but not a wet system. I just need it to work a bit faster and if it works better, that fine as well.

Finally finished using up all of my 28 ga hulls (some 40 boxes total)
so now it's off to the 12 ga stuff.
I have numerous vintage guns, some with hammers, others not, all sxs. These are my favorites for knocking off pigeons around feed lots, and managing other "pest" types. Problem is, most of them are 2 1/2" chambers. Rather than spend the fortune on factory (If you can find the shorties), I like to go totally old school (matches the guns they are used in).
Resize the hulls, cut them to length, reprime and load with low pressure loads using the stash of PB powder courtesy of Catnthehat! The loading process is done with tools all likely old as grandpa including the handheld priming tool, and the table mounted roll crimper to finish them off.
The home-made shot is measured out with a vintage british made dipper, over top of felt wads.
I find some of the easiest to work with hulls, are the discarded trap shooting hulls due to their thin plastic (makes a pretty crimp with the roll crimper). Just have to watch the primer sizing, as some of the primers on these cheaper loads are larger than standard, while others too small to take a 209.
A lot of satisfaction when you see those feathered rats come spiraling down when taken with all hand tooled loads like this

Loaded up some lighter loads of 4350 for the kid's 375 H&H Fanzoj drilling, and adjusted the rear sight so it sits flush in the recess and filed it down so he can get a 50 yard zero on it.
Not often I get to work on really nice rifles like that one!

Loaded a series to chrono of 180 gr hornady Eldms out of my 7 saum, can’t wait to look at those numbers. Also swapped some scopes around and cleaning out some guns I don’t use or have never used.

Going to be looking at my 7-08 reloads and chrono them, see how they group still, then see if they group good out of my second 7-08 I put together for a loaner rifle.

Loaded 25 more test loads for the 6mmBR in Half grain increments this time. Already did the 1 gr. increment loads to narrow down the field. Hopefully my trigger repair works.

Scoped up a 22-250 with an older Lyman all American 25x to retest some loads that I had shot with a older 6x Lyman but the wind came up fast and strong so that never happened.

So spent the rest of the day prepping some Lapua 22-250 brass that I had fire formed to 22-250AI for my other bench rifle. Will see what tomorrow brings hopefully it will make it to the range before the snow flies.

Also mounted a scope on my other model 12 .308 Savage Might do some long range work with it... we will see.

Got the Winchester mdl 70 HBV out today worked as it should and shoot some small ish groups.

The trigger on the Savage model 12 was another fail, so now it is no longer an accu trigger but a straight Salvage Trigger set at 10 ounces we will see.

I built a breach seater for my Shuetzen rifle and shimmed the palm rest for it , no more wobbly palm rest and no more sized cases !

Looked at all the boxes of stuff I have, and all the pieces my bench is in, then looked around the basement to try to figure out where to put it all up again. I just groaned and decided to worry about that in a week or two. I apparently need to build more shelving, could use another ammo safe, have to expand the powder locker and need to decisde if I really want the safe up or downstairs, 7 steps down, or 4 steps up and thru a tight turn. We tried out a fancy dolly that was "designed to climb stairs", the pulleys on it exploded about halfway up the stairs coming out of the old house.... pair of 65yr olds are not as strong as they once were. Next time it will be an eyebolt thru the top and winched up the stairs. Nice part of the new setup will be fixing the issues on the old one.

Put a lighter trigger spring in my Stiga m96. that brought the trigger pull down from ~5 lbs to ~2.5 lbs. I will bebuild my latest shells and see if the groups shrink in size.

Charging a bunch of 8.14X56R cases with 7.5 grains of Red Dot.
For those not aware, the red stuff is a wax plug that gets pushed into the case to hold the powder before the case is chambered with a breach seated bullet.
That tiny load of powder will take a 150 grain cast bullet out to 300 meters accurate enough hit a 22" target offhand with irons

Made an annealer and motorized my trickler, actually most parts were made about a month ago, just had to wait for the slow boat from China. Trickler has a momentary on off button to dispense one or two grains at a time. Annealer will accept most calibres just by rotating the selection wheel.
