Default WMU 318 Advice

Hi
Finally I found permission to hunt in wmu 318 (bearberry area) I do not know the area, could you give me some advice. Whitetail, elks, mule deer ??

Yup there is deer, elk, bear in that area. Lots of white tails

318 has lots of crown land as well so don't overlook that possibility especially if the land you have permission on backs on to some. Elk seems to be more on private land now while whitetails are very common throughout the zone. Mulies are not in short supply but require a draw.

Lots of white tails, I've never seen a mule out there though. There's supposed to be a decent amount of Elk there, so you might just want to have an Elk tag in your pocket while you're hunting for White Tails. You can't hunt them in 318 but I've seen a fair number of sandhill cranes walking around in there as well.

As many people as animals, crown land anyways. Seen one of the biggest mule dear I’ve ever seen, thought it was an elk
