Cabelas is a joke. They had lots of 243, 6.5cm, and some house brand 30-30. That’s IT. Not a single round of 30-06 or 270 in the building. Hell, not even any .277 projectiles. Canadian tire next door has the fix.

Cabelas has been a joke for years...used to enjoy going to the store when visiting the city...despise even getting gift cards now as it seems everytime I go in they have nothing a hunter/ shooter needs or wants.....can find lots of camo dish clothes though.....big disappointment for a store hunters/ shooters should love. Edmonton and regina stores are both the same...

Winnipeg is the same deal zip ,plus when they do get something in they stick it right to ya and snap it off. I order from all the smaller guys and it comes right to my door. East or west of me i don't care who, i don't include politics with the hunting stores ,everyone of them is needed in this country.

Some don't like the shipping prices, but driving around looking will cost you more then you think. Driving around and not finding anything is even worst.

Was in Cabelas Wednesday. Good place to shop for pink hoodies or a camo purse. Lots of Creedmore ammo, too.
If you're into that sort of thing...

That would be because, on that same day, that same tour bus, with those same 75+ year old hunters on board, found the only supplier of red and white plaid Fudd hats and suspenders in town, and because reliable supplies of above mentioned apparel are so hard to find because of production shortages of same apparel, the 75+ year old hunters, using their cumulative wisdom, decided to buy the entire inventory of that very rare (and as a consequence now extinct) apparel.

People still go to Cabelas?

I find it one of the better places to purchase hunting clothing and fishing gear, and sometimes they have great deals on target shotshells, but I have never purchased a firearm or scope there, or reloading gear.

Aaandd, it puts to rest the old saying about 06. " You can always find ammo in a small town hardware/thrift/grocery/drug/pet store if you forget yours at home.

The Fudds are out in force and buying large.

For sure, I’ll never need to buy ammo again if they quit making it today. But I’m still always looking for some reason. Noticed even on gotenda no stock on 7mm or 6.5cm. And even plenty missing in most popular stuff like 243 or 308. My daughter just bought her first rifle in 6.5 and being in Lethbridge not too many places to buy ammo so online it is. Noticed the shortage everywhere

The 168 grain ttsx was probably one of the only 30 cal bullets I could find at the store, that being said they don’t have any powder recommendations at least in a clear manner on their website for 30-06. I ended up doing some math and coming up with my own powder load, Used the oal that Barnes provided and went from there. Seems to have worked alright so far on paper, we shall see how it works on the deer and moose in a shade over a week.
