Yup I've used them. Best advice is get a bunch of different ones and use the ones you like best/ make the best calls with. Everyones palate is different and for no real good reason you will be better on some than others. If your new to diaphragms single reed are generally easier and cripple reeds are the most difficult

I’ve got 5 different reeds, best cow caller sound for me is the green “Elk 101” one. Bull I still haven’t decided, single seems best so far. I’m new to this too but been practicing all winter, actually is much easier than I thought to learn.

Gonna pick up a few more to try.

I just bought the red "times up" cow elk diaghram. I sound like a cut cat wailing but hopefully I can get that turned around by September. It's me, not the call. My biggest hurdle so far is not gagging and throwing up with it in my mouth.

Wapiti river and smith game calls make some pretty good calls these days. The large baseball bat bugle tubes make a huge difference to the sound you can make. The bite and blow cow calls work well too.

You can cut the diaphragm down with scissors it might be to big for your mouth.
