AR15 Owners - Optics?
Just wondering what you AR shooters are using for optics? I bought my first AR recently and would like to make it more shootable for my aging eyes. I've been looking at red dots like the Vortex Viper, or a low power scope suitable for AR use. I do not plan on competing in the new future, so this is just for range use only. Budget is $300 - $600 ish. Just wondering what you are using on your AR type rifle, and how you like it?

Try a Leupold Mark AR. Fits your budget, good glass, has pretty fine crosshairs though, but thats what I wanted.

NF 1-4x24 illuminated. It might be a wee bit out of your price range, sorry. I really like it.

I have a pair of 1-4x vortex pst scopes and they are excellent, but just a bit out of your price range. Vortex also has a 1-6x strike eagle in their lineup, I don't know if it is as durable as their pst line, but it is priced at $500.00 at Cabelas. I would probably also spring for an offset mount, which is somewhere around 130.00-150.00. also, if you need accessories for your AR15, check out Tier One Armory, it's a little store with great service. they have a focus on the AR15 rifle, they may also carry the Vortex strike eagle. good luck.

+2 on vortex. Been using a strikefire for years without issues. If I was looking for another I wouldn't hesitate with going vortex

I have a Bushnell 4200 1.25-4x and a Vortex spitfire 1x, prefer the variable magnification for the type of local matches I shoot but each has their pros n cons. The 4200s have great glass with an illuminated center dot an a 30mm tube found it on CGN for $350 shipped.

I've got an Aimpoint PRO on my M&P 15, and a Vortex Strike Eagle on my XCR...different useage, both optics are great.

I have a Strike Eagle but find the reticle too busy for my liking. The edge to edge clarity isn't there but it is still okay glass if you can get past the reticle. I still own one but I really like my Bushnell 6500 1-6. If you are going to be upgrading for the future I would recommend it. It has the illuminated 4A single dot with the fine cross hairs. It is fast for close up shots and the dot is small enough for 300 yard shots.
The Leupold Mark AR is good glass for the price and I've shot a friend's rifle with one. For a brief time I had a Leupold VX II 1-4 mounted on a rifle before I put it back on a Marlin 336.
For me magnification is a must but you still need the low end power for close up shots. The 1-4 or 1-6 scopes are just about right.

I'm gonna be bench shooting my AR15 and I'm torn on what power I should be looking at. Do I go with a 1-6, 1-4 or a 3-9

AR optics
Have a Leupold Mark AR 1-4 on my semi .223, it's compact and light.

In have a Strike Eagle and like it. If in was buying today, I'd consider the Primar Arms ACSS (I think that is what it is). That looks like a good optic as well, and a touch cheaper than the Vortex.
