Default Alberta's Record Archery Grizzly Bear

Here is a picture of my Dad's Grizz he shot with his recurve back in 1981. The skull measured 23 7/16. It only took one arrow.

Recurve, when you say Alberta's record archery grizzly do you mean the biggest taken?

Dad shot him some where around the Kakwa south west of Grande Prairie. He was on the ground and shot him at 13 yards. He had patterned him for 33 days before getting his chance. The grizz walked by him, and he got a quartering away shot.

Very cool! Your dad looks like a successful bowhunter. Probably arrowing critters, when guys didn't believe you could kill critters with arrows.

actually when bowhunting, bambi will resort to the redneck hillbilly attire......even had it on the other night.

that guy had to have been considered a true rebel to be that much of an archery fanatic in them days. super cool pics.

J,
Thanks for posting the pics man. I still remember that bear rug being pretty freaky on the wall! I wish I would have gotten to talk more to your Dad about hunting before he passed.
Your doing him proud by carrying on the hunting tradition, good luck on your ram this fall.
