I want to order a bushnell 6500, and find that the online optic stores in the US offer it MUCH cheaper than wholesale, cabelas or any of the usual suspects here in Canada.
Unfortunately, the stores in the US won't ship it, due to Export regulations.
Does anyone knows of an optic discounter or alike in CANADA where I could order a scope, without paying the full (jacked up, in my book) canadian retail price?
If you don't have an export permit from the US, you're playing with fire ordering them from the states. It's illegal.
The buyer does not have to get an export license. The seller is responsible to obtain the export permit........if a seller on ebay says he ships to Canada then let him ship to Canada.
I've never had a problem ordering scopes from the states. I've saved hundreds on my one scope. MAKE SURE the scope is shipped via USPS and not UPS. UPS will charge you insane brokerage fees (roughly around 90-100 dollars for that scope) where as USPS will simply charge you customs fees which are way more reasonable. Canada is more expensive for basically everything. We get jacked on everything except maybe.... maple syrup. Good luck buying.
I have had a Huskemaw scope shipped to me just recently and there was no problem at all> It is the company that is not shipping. Shipping it has nothing to do with any laws but most companies do not want the hassle of a broker.
