Default Education on associations, please?

I'm just getting serious again about my shooting as a sport. I shoot lever action rifles and one Lee Enfield milsurp. I live in Calgary.

It is time to join the proper national association that works for shooters politically, which one is best?

Which provincial association works best for Alberta? I'm looking for an association that supports lots of activities and might be of some help as I introduce my kids to shooting.

I started another thread about ranges but a club that is safe, fun, and kid friendly would be a nice thing too. Maybe a small bore target club around Calgary?

What is the difference between those associations?

Their websites suggest very similar mandates.

Would membership in both be of value to our sport?
