eBay meat grinder
Has anyone purchased the eBay meat grinder. It’s a #12 appears to be a Chinese type brand. Looks commercial. It weighs 40 pounds and is only $170 Canadian. I kinda want to order one but a bit leery

With shipping it's almost $300 warranty? parts? you would better off watching Cabelas for a sale
Chinese warranty
If you deliver it to the factory in China in person they'll give you a new one

Only $170? It will be over $300 when you factor in the GST, shipping, and customs duties.

When I looked at it yesterday it said free shipping. Now the price is about $260 CDN shipped. The weight is 44 pounds according to the spec sheet. What does the Cabela’s carnivore 3/4 hp go on sale for? I checked out the princess auto one, and it’s a lightweight like the cheap ones at Cabela’s, but with their great return policy may be a great buy. If the eBay one is crap, I’m screwed. Maybe I’ll just wait till next year and buy a carnivore 3/4hp. Very nice unit.

What are you planning on running through it? Over the last 5 years I have ground about 400lbs on something a lot lighter weight than that princess auto grinder (1/2hp for less than $100). Cheap nylon gears, but it came with a spare set and so far I don't see any signs of wear.

In my experience, buying cheap tools is usually a waste of money. Just checking if anyone has purchased this particular grinder off eBay. The specs look good. Princess auto isn’t exactly known for selling a quality product.

I bought a Weston Pro Series #22 off Ebay this fall. Got it for $400 U.S. with free shipping. Worked out to about $600 CND. Weston has a five year warranty and this thing is a tank. Can't believe they offer free shipping on these. It is heavy! Bigger than what I really need at 2 HP. But I got it for about the same price as a Carnivore #22. Which I believe is also built by Weston for Cabelas. Looks like a Butcher series to me. As was said I wouldn't go cheap on the grinder.

Save yourself the time, money and frustration of a Chinese tool crapping our and just buy a Cabelas Carnivore grinder instead. Same amount of money, and WAY better quality and warranty.
