Trees from your neighbor’s yard hanging into yours.
Can I just chop chop?
Is it his responsibility to prune stuff that goes into my yard???
I got a row of his pines that have their canopy stretching way over my grass... killing my lawn.
I think imma just gonna chop chop anything coming over my property.
Damn annoying man.
Plus he’s got a small maple right on the corner of our property... it’s branches literally hide my vehicles as they back out of my driveway onto a pretty busy road.
The trees on his property... should I just chop those hidey branches off and apologize after?
I’ve asked a few times.... no response.

Good communication.
I would talk to him first and see if he is willing to trim them and offer my help.
If he is willing great and if not I would chop chop. I like giving them an opportunity first and then base my decision off theirs.

In that case, you should definitely retain a professional to perform the surgery; since the tree is on his property, your neighbour should be responsible for the bill.
Roundup- yes, it can kill a deciduous trees. I don't know it would affect the spruce.

They’re Colorado spruce..... then there’s the maple
Ain’t no way imma gonna pay for a tree guy
I can chop with the best o them
I guess no roundup on the maple then.
Is it rude to dump his branches back into his yard?

If you’re in Calgary, you can prune back to the property line, which might be different from where the fence it. The catch is you can’t harm the tree and if you do, you’re on the hook and mature trees are not cheap

If you want to be really immature and strive to have bad relations with your neighbor, throw the branches back over the fence, or use roundup so that an arborist get involved so that you can be charged with malicious damage of property. If you want to act like a grownup, talk to the guy and at least notify him of your intentions to cut the branches on your side, which you are allowed to do, as long as the extent of it will not kill the tree.

Rent a tree spade mover under his name and tell them you want the trees right in the middle of his lawn. He will sit up and take notice when he gets home lol. More so when he gets the bill!

How hard r those to operate...?
I can run a skid steer and a backhoe so it can’t be too different.
Jumping the rig over his snow fence’ll take some figuring...
I’m not great at math and angles n velocity n stuff.

Bessie, all those ^ answers are incorrect, I'd go fight him for sure.
Especially if he's a Flames fan, wear your jersey.
If you don't want to fight, I'd either call 911 and complain, or chop them, then use his water to water the trees as you thought they looked a bit dry.

I could run a soaker hose from his tap right in front of his door.
He steps on it and loses an eye. Then he’ll know I mean business.
If I squirt him with roundup...?

Trim the spruce and the maple where they encroach on your land, do not throw the branch’s on his lawn. If the tree blocks your view from leaving your driveway call bylaw. If the tree dies then its awefull tough to prove you did it anyway. Lots of bugs and stuff out there that can kill a tree beside an aggressive trim.

If you're going to use round up or do any cutting at least check his garage first, no point using your own chemicals and tools.
Also a good idea to spread an inch of salt where his trees are after the round up. Just to ensure he can not replant right away.
I think the rules say you are allowed to trim anything within 32 feet of your property line on his side, maybe its 48'....

hmm...maybe you could take a trip to BC and bring back some bugs that will kill the tree's. No one will suspect you.

Most places only carry it in 24's so you will just need to buy two. Wouldn't hurt to go with 3 and just use extra.

2,4-d or killex works better on pine trees

You done this before... I can tell.
I hope it’s 48’ for the rule. I could roundup his apple tree.
He don’t share.

You could do him a favour and fertilize them but I heard the fertilizer works better with a little diesel mixed in with it. But make sure as soon as you apply this mixture you burn or singe those branches with a tiger torch. I heard it helps and gives them a huge boost it puts the fertilizer right to work. Just make sure you have a hose hooked up to the neighbours water tap just in case things get out of hand. And possibly have one hooked to the fire hydrant as well.

That’s one of those night time ops where the tiger torch gets used instead of flashlight right?
I’m just worried I’d have enough light to fertilize properly .
