Default Red Stag hunting in NZ

Just wondering how many guys have gone to New Zealand for a red stag hunt. I am going to be on the north island for a wedding Feb 2016 and was wondering if anyone has hunted them on the north island with an outfitter or if you have any recommendations for an outfitter on the north island.

Dream hunt! I'm going May 2015, but doubt I can afford a hunt right now. So I'm hiking, hoping to go "hunting" with my camera!

I believe the guy's username is BigJohn on CGN and he may be on AO. He did a hunt there last year on his honeymoon with his wife. He loved it from what I remember . Hopefully he sees this posting and responds to your questions.

Default Affordable

I did this hunt and did get a really good one. Now remember that these are free range, born in the wild stags and they are cagey. It is a great hunt with fantastic people. That, I can assure you. http://www.makapua.co.nz/index.htm
