Default since i didn't get anything in 2014 ;)

(sorry you can't see the head,but it was too cold to take another pic)

after doing lots of calling just a small one , but boy did it ever tear up the fur pretty much blew off its ass end
(that's the entry hole which you can't see on the pic)

still skinned it just for the experience

first stand i had 4 come in but they just hung out at 400 yds
what do u guys do to get em closer (i'm just using hand calls)???

eventually i took a shot but missed, wanted to adjust for bulletdrop but the caps on my scope were frozen stuck

What caliber you using. What are you using for a call(s)?

Im guessing you had the wind in your face.
I'm suggesting that you try to call with a cross wind( eg. from your left to your right). With the downwind side being the shooting lane. You have to make it so there nose is satisfied.you have to shoot before it hits your downwind scent plume. Fool it's eyes and its ears maybe.... Never the nose.

Congrats on the coyote.

When they hang up like that I always use a lip squeak to try and coax them in closer. Works sometimes and sometimes, they just sit there.

they came from the east and wind was north

270 with hornady 130 gr. ,Rocky mountain predator call (not sure what kind)

Yup. Switching calls is the best option. Sometimes taking a shot isn't the best idea just educates those coyotes. Maybe try to leave without letting them see you. They will be more willing to come in.

well i was on a bit of a hill and with my face pretty much in the snow just so they wouldn't see me lol ,if i would've left then they would've seen me
