Think of it this way.
If your kid came home and told you this story, what would you tell him to do?
Excellent point.

So your idea of having someone's back is protecting a (alleged) criminal?

Having someones back is helping them, by trying to get them to change their ways, to keep from getting in trouble, not saying nothing while the person get's himself deeper into trouble. If the person doesn't want to listen, and continues to break the rules, then you don't owe them anything at that point.

That's kinda the definition of having someones back. If you did not do anything wrong why do you need someone to have your back? Please give me one circumstance where you have not screwed up and you needed someone to have your back. A friend helps you hide. A true friend helps you hide a body.

Default Give him a shot

I would go give him a smack in the mouth and tell him to stop poaching. If next year he starts doing what he normally does report him and hopefully fish and wildlife can catch him in the act.

My kid wouldn't do that. Neither would 90% of the others here. So what do you guys suggest? Just let this loser and every other loser walk? Pretend you never saw or heard anything?

I'm just in the process of getting more info. I'm trying to find out what taxis he's gonna go to. I know of one already. This guy is a piece of crap when it comes to respect for hunting. He's a heartless sniper.
He needs to grow up and learn consequences of bad actions.
My wife is 100% behind me on this.
Almost every family has someone who just needs to learn the hard way. Sucks it has to come to this, glad your wife is on your side.
