$500-$1000 Scope suggestions?

Hi, no doubt this topic has been covered before....of course if it were the case we couldn't bring something up from the past......., we would probably have 90% less threads on here ;-)

Looking to upgrade to put on an A bolt 7mm RM. Currently have a 2.5x10x40mm Elite 4200 on it. Plan to use it for bush as well as primarily for open country with shots up to 400 yds (presuming my skills are up to it) for deer, antelope, elk etc. So, that is 2.5/3/4 x 10/12/14 variable scope or so i would think. I have done some reading of course but wanted to hear from the experts that peruse this forum as well.
