Default Browning B78's

I am looking to get back into a B78 as I have owned them in the past and rather liked them, especially the nostalgic look and the octagon barrel.

They all shot ok (under an inch MOA) even though the triggers were a little stiff.

One thing I am noticing is, now, they all have silver triggers versus the ones in the past with the gold trigger. Mine all had the gold triggers.

What is the difference? Is it an age/manufacturing period or what?

Thanks for all reviews,

I had a model 78, purchased in 1978, 3006, and a B78 purchased in 1982 45-70, neither of these rifles had a gold trigger.

I believe both of you are correct.

The more I read and the more pictures I look at, I have come to believe mine were all 1885's.

Thanks for your input.
