Default H&R single shot

Who has a Single Shot H&R rifle? I have a 25-06 in the heavy barrel that I haven’t shot yet. Just wondering what you guys and gals were getting for groups and if you had any factory suggestions. I will reload at some point.

I did! Bought one in .30-30 Winchester from Wholesale Sports back in 2004. Got home to Edson and while running a rod and patch through it, realized it had no rifling. That was my first and last time. Wholesale refunded me but they had no others for me to buy. Id love to find one in .30-.30 again someday.

I have one in a 22 hornet with interchangeable barrel to 20 ga 3 inch mag.
I have a 4x scope on it, but it never has been very accurate, or shud say very inconsistent At will only group about 3 inches at 100 yrds. I reload so have played around with it a bit, varmit grenades tumble..... and I get about 3 -4 reloads out of a case. Its a good truck gun especially with the extra barrel, just wish the 22 hornet was a 243 or 30-30 ...lol

I had one in 243. Got the trigger worked on and did a few different reload combos and could never get better than a 2 inch group so ended up trading it in. Nice gun to shoot though.

I was wondering as such. If I can get 2” From factory ammo I will be happy for now. Keeps me inside 200 yards for deer. I bought it to get my wife’s little cousin his first deer. He is a good shot on the 22. Will let him shoot the 223 a bit then This 2506 is gonna be a big step up but should suffice

Had a 25-06 and thought it was accurate enough. My son shot moose, deer and coyote with it. I did have firing pin troubles with it though.

I just picked up a Topper 158 22 hornet/20ga. Took it to the range a couple days ago and shot it at 50yrd only as the side wind was 20km/hr. H110 & lil gun 35gr vmax 1.725 col, win 296, h110 & lil gun 40gr vmax 1.860 col. I had a few 1/2-5/8" groups with the above combos, but I really had to do my part with the trigger pull, as it prob around 7lbs or more lol. That's was with a bipod and rear bag.

I have a bull barrel 22-250. With a rubber o ring under the action screw that thing will shoot under 1 moa. It used to be my coyote calling gun and I have whacked them all the way out to 650yds. The one thing I hate about the gun is it has an extractor not ejector so with gloves it's tough to pick the little case out to reload. I use it mostly now as a loaner when I take guys out calling. Make sure you keep the lock up dry. any bit of oil on it and it will open up under recoil.

I have one I bought about 10 years ago, 223, bull barrel.
It is very accurate and with the bull barrel, it does not heat up if you shoot more than a couple of shoots in rapid succession.
I have heard of others with bigger diameter bores that had accuracy issues.

I bought one new from Wholesale Sports several years back in .243. I must of shot 400 rounds of factory ammo out of that sucker and could not get any kind of group out of it. Sent it back for warranty work at Gravel and after a very long wait, they told me the inside of the barrel had a bunch of tooling marks. They had no replacement for me and they gave me my money back.
I now have one in 45-70 that I love.

Default 500 s&w

I love my H&R 500 s&w, hoping it gets to knock down a moose for me this fall yet.

Was thinking that if 25-06 isn’t accurate I might bore it out to 45-70...
Anyone bore out these barrels? Mine is a heavy barrel, so lots of metal to work with.

My H&R in 30/30 was a pretty accurate rifle .

Is yours the ultra hunter? Found mine to be accurate but didn’t seem very well balanced.
