Default Blackfoot Trail Conditions for Grouse Hunting

Hello,

Just wondering if anyone has been in Blackfoot recently that could give an update on the trails. I’m thinking of doing some grouse hunting in the coming days and am wondering what I would be up against going out on foot?
Thinking I might need spikes for the boots.

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks

In all honesty this is the worst year for grouse I have seen out there. If going west is an option I would go in that direction.

With the rain last night, there is a good chance you will want traction spikes on the well used trails.

I went out a few times before the snow and always got birds.
Definetly wasn’t hot though. I’ll just have a few hours so I figured it was really my only option.
I think I’ll give it a try tomorrow. With the ice cleats.
Thanks for the reply.
