Default What to do with small engine

I have a Honda gx160 engine I believe it's around 5hp and I'm trying to figure out what to do with it. I was thinking about a little go-cart. But we have our quads. My boy is almost 2 so he doesn't have one yet but we still have my daughters small quad she started with as a child. So im not sure if a go-cart will be a waste of time or not?

So i don't really know what to do with it? Make a wood splitter? Big remote control car? (Always wanted to do this with a chainsaw engine)

I've been a welder/fabricator my whole life and have materials available from work. Gears, sprockets, chain, metal etc.. I don't know? Any suggestions?

Forgot to mention we spend lots of time on crown land quading and camping

Simple and good for flat bottom boats in shallows.

I never even thought about a boat. I could buy a cheap one on kageege to put around on in the summer. I heard you can drink on a boat if it has a bathroom. I'm wondering if the lake counts?

They do make great log splitters and building it yourself you will save a ton over buying one with the same capability.

I was thinking about making a gas powered bike. Reminds me of when I was a kid dreaming up the same kind of ideas.

The engine actually had a small hydraulic pump mounted to it. And we do chop lots of firewood throughout the year. This might save some back pain.

I saw a video on YouTube for a Briggs and Stratton Flyer. Just a little homemade go kart but it looks easy to build

With a place to sleep and you have to be moored or anchored!

Go to Princess auto and get ideas from there, build a pressure washer, air compressor, buy a hydraulic pack build a wood splitter, or what ever.
Let your imagination run wild.
great winter project.

What about a trailer mover? I made one with a 2500# winch. This could be handy for you

I could use a trailer mover. I have a big camper and a flat deck trailer I need to cut at a sharp 90° to barely squeeze in my back driveway from the alley.

Mount the motor on a modified snow sled like a oversized GT racer. Might be fun in winter. Along the concept in the video, just not use a boat.

I've seen videos of those boats cruising over the frozen lakes. Probably the best thing to be in if you break through!

Definitely a mini bike!

Being a Harley guy my vote would be something cool like this.

A friend of mine built a bandsaw mill powered by a 5 hp Honda. Took some tweaking but it worked well. With his set-up, he could slab up to a 12' x 48" log.

Use it to power a winch for tensioning and setting catapults and trebuchets, we’ll be needing some soon enough. ‘Siege engine’ anyone?

I like that bike idea. That's an option for sure!

I like this idea. And it could fit in my back yard. I don't think I need to own the land that stuff flies over?
