Default Places in the Area to go target shooting 1 Aug 18

Good day,

This is my first post, so first off... Hello all!!

Me and some of my friends are looking for some crown land to shoot of some rounds for target practice. We are all military so not native to this area and places that we find on reddit a year ago has changed and I hear we can't shoot in those places anymore.

We want a place where we won't be a bother to anyone, and of course we will clean up after ourselves.

Any info would be appreciated,

Thanks!

I live in Sherwood Park, one of my friends lives in Morinville, and another in Fort Sask. I think we are more looking for Fort Sask.

We looked into joining a gun club, but a lot of the memberships are maxed out.

Same in the Calgary area, only indoor ranges accepting members.

Aheia firearms center in dewinton. You can shoot trap and skeet also 5 stand . Without membership. Or join silverwillow and shoot sporting clays. But please dont shoot clays on crown land it leaves a big mess they wont disappear for years. Its just more for the antis to use against us.

I think the Onoway Gun Club is accepting a few new members as well.

Any advice on where we could look? We checked out Parkland today, and I wouldn't hunt anything there or target shoot or anything. There is too many houses and farms close by. If you missed something you would likely hit a cow across the road. Coming from New Brunswick, I have to say my experience trying to get out to fire a couple of rounds to try my new 30-30 has been a little frustrating.

CHAS and/or Wildwood are not "maxed out". Plenty of club ranges in the Edmonton area to choose from. Even some farther afoot ....such as Edson.
