Exclamation New from Sierra

Sierra just released a new line of bullets called gamechangers. Looks like a match king type hunting bullet. Being a Sierra product these things should fly very well. Midway usa has first dibs until Sept 1 from what I've read.

Myself, I would like to know the price. Plenty of good bullets out there. Few at a reasonable price.

I don’t see them listed on their website.

It appears to be a Sierra version of the Ballistic Tip.

They are a few dollars more than the GameKings, but comparable. I’m looking forward to trying some. The 30 cal are actually available now according to Midway I think it is.

I think sierra was behind the times a little but I feel they are catching up.

I've always like their products though for cost effectiveness and performance.

This new sierra bullet are posting a BC of 0.53 with the 30 cal 165 gr bullet. Hornady sst says their 30 cal 165gr sst bullet BC 0.447, and nosler accubond posts 0.475. Nosler accubond long range 168gr 30 cal posts BC 0.525. It will be interesting to see if these sierra bullets are more extreme long range profile length or if they are more normal length. Those are way higher.

Odd the gel pack slug looked no different than any moderate expanding bullet.
One would think with the hollow cavity it would make burger like a Berger.
It seemed to on the pig anyways.

That air pocket idea seems to be Intresting fore sure.

As that tip gets forced back on impact, I bet the pressurized air will pop that bullet open faster.

It might even improve the "PACK & WACK" sound feed back on a good critter hit. Ha.

Keeping it to modest speeds it will perform but bump it up I think you got a varmint bullet so be careful say running this out of a 7 mm STWespecially a tad on the hot side.

It looks like a Hornady ELD-X too.

Now are those polymer tips heat-resistant like Hornady’s new tips or will the BC fall off as the tip melts? One would imagine that most other manufacturers would hop onto that bandwagon ASAP.

And what Jerry D said,
Sierra hadn’t done much lately, it’s about time.
Just finished loading up the rest of my Gamekings in 145 and 150g, 7mm.
