541T's Anyone got one?
Several years ago a friend sold me a 541 T HB at a very good price..very good (Thks ccan, if you're lurking). Along with a Anshutz 1418 that was the first new rifle that I ever bought (from Guy Morrison at Smokey's on 118 ave...flashback for some of you?)
Anyway anyone else have a 541T or 541T HB. Just wondering what your experiences have been? Seem to be going for a pretty good dollar right now (thanks again ccan).
My son at 13 was putting 5 into an itty bitty group at 50 yards with this one and really got him on the right track as far as shooting discipline. He'd watch
the 50 rd immitation assault rifle guys put all of em into a 6" group and just sit there biding his time and put em all into 1 ragged hole.
He moved on to my centre fire 22's and larger and "serious" practice with the 22 carried over to the centre-fires.
But...it all started out with a 541T HB.

never had a 't', but an 's'. my azz is still sore from selling it, nice guy in bc is loving it now. although it was a sporter, it shot like a full blown br gun.
thankfully my model 5 brno shoots as well, helps to forget the rem, lee

I've heard the s shoots well, in fact in some cases , as well as the HB.

My S actually shot better than the HBs that I have fired.

Hmmm might have to do some lookin.
Just for interest sake when I got mine by buddy had shortened the mag on one. I have since done two more. That way they fit flush with the bottom of the stk. Sure gives them a nice clean look not having the mag extend below.

Always wanted to mess with a 541, but sadly the only Remington 22 I can remember shooting is my 1950's vintage model 37 Rangemaster.
It is, however, as accurate as any small bore match rifle I have ever shot, and I have shot a mess of Anschutz, Shultz and larsens, and Walthers in the years gone by.
