Default older stlye original barnes x bullets 7mm rem mag 150 boatails

Can anyone help me out with load data for the older barnes before the tsx? i have been loading the 150 grain boat tail tsx and with good results... except i ran out of bullets 2 months ago and havent been able to find any tsx for a while so i was able to get my hands on the original barnes x 150 grains.

Just seeing if the load info would be different than the tsx, i know max for the tsx is 60 grains fro imr 4831, but i looked in my loading records from 15 years ago when i shot the "barnes x" and i wrote down i was shooting 62.5 grains.

The original Barnes X bullets build more pressure than the TSX/TTSX, so you need to reduce the powder charge by a couple of grains. I was also never able to obtain the same velocity with the original Barnes X, that I can achieve with the TSX/TTSX.

so do you think that i could load them the same as i would load the tsx ? my best load with the 150 tsx was 4831 59.2 grains.

The Barnes manual number 3 lists imr 4831 as starting at 59gr and max load of 64gr for the 150 x-bullet.

The older X bullets build pressure earlier, and more suddenly than the the TSX/TTSX bullets. They also tend to copper foul badly in many rifles, and accuracy is not great in many rifles. They also are more prone to not expanding properly. Those reasons, are why they were replaced by the TSX/TTSX. If you use them, work the load up carefully, and make sure that you have a good copper solvent to remove the fouling.Don't expect to achieve the same velocity with the X, that you can achieve with the TSX/TTSX. Personally, I would just go with the TTSX, in 140-150gr, and not have to deal with the X bullet at all.
