Default Archery Spot and Stalk Footwear

What does everyone do?

I've ran into situations where boots/hikers don't cut it because of the noise factor in October. I found myself running around in thick socks more than boots.

Anyone ever buy Mukluks for bow hunting?

Go!

Sneakers then socks for those last few yards unless the cactus are too thick.

Socks over shoes works well too.

I think somebody did it once on a TV hunting show.... I agree but what ever works for you best for you I guess. I wouldn't get caught dead in socks in the area I hunt and there isn't any cactus. Maybe in beach sand!!! Merrell's soft sided shoes work pretty good for me.

Larr D. Jones used to stalk that way.Moccasins work great, but always relied on my Redwing iron worker boats - flat crepe soles, no hard toe, ad silent!
You can feel a dime underneath them.

I have a pile of those boots. After about 2 months my soles are shaped like bananas, I suppose they'd hold up better in the woods.

I have some Elk Tan Scout Wrap Arounds and those things are great. Even comfortable to wear around camp after a long day of hiking with hiking boots.

If you want to save your money on new boots all the time as a result of your soles being warn out. Get fitted for some custom orthotic in soles and this will remedy that issue immediately. I use to have the same issue, now boots last me a couple years!

I hope this works.

Saw these in Showmasters, main floor Bow Valley Square, downtown Calgary...so if you're you can get some of these beauties for $95 for the soft bottom ones.
Made in Canada too.
They have some plastic soled ones...didn't check the price on those.

If you waxed them up for a little protection from moister, they could work well on those dry crispy days.

I should have worded that differently. The tread material of those boots are made from a type of foam, apparently when I walk I drag the outside of my heals, after a couple months I almost roll my ankles because the outsides of the tread is wore out so bad.

I use my boots, i tired sock over, ect. My sock just got full of burrs and whatnot. Never had an issue getting within 10-20 yards with boots on. Just go slow and slower, place that foot down.
