Default Thousands of snow geese by Lloyd

Drove to Saskatoon this afternoon.
Kind of heaven on the road to hell just a few miles east of Lloydminster on the north side of 16.

Easily 10k of snow geese and probably more in the area.

Amazing flights moving north everywhere I looked.

Not a good day for small planes I would guess.

I wish flocks like that would fly south of Calgary! My southwestern corner of the province just doesn't see snow geese.

they must have all congregated in that one spot. I drove to lloyd today and only saw ducks, canadas and a few smaller flocks of mixed specks and snows.

Drove to Unity today for a funeral, you guessed it , thousands of snow and blue geese just east of North Battleford. Saw about 3 different groups and they were in huge numbers. No wonder they have eaten themselves out of house and home on the tundra with numbers like that. I think there is a spring season on them and they taste good as long as you skin them.

Just west of Lloyd near Islay last weekend the sky was absolutely full of geese for as far as you could see, snows and Canada's would hate to even guess at the numbers but they were thick and stretched out for miles, watched them for 1/2 hr and no end is sight

Driving to Vermilion Friday, west of town off the Hwy 16 there was a 1/4 section plum full of snows. Absolutely amazing to see that many birds in a field. The wife was in awe, so was I. Truly a incredible sight to see.

Kennilworth Lake is a bird sanctuary , a guy would have to check the regs on how far you have to be from the boundry to hunt , but the half section that is north 1/2 mile due north of the lake was plumb full of snows around 5:30 PM today. 3 years ago I had permission on swathed wheat 2 mile north and a bit east and we had a great shoot.
