I kept getting a message that something went wrong but I would not be charged so I kept trying. After awhile I finally gave up. Then I checked my email and I had 9 transactions go through for $100 each. Only planned on spending $100.
So I ended up with $900 in charges and 3600 entries. Not what I wanted at all.
Should have checked email sooner but it kept saying no charges would be processed. Not happy. Wife will be ****ed off if I can't get this back.

They've begun crediting some on my credit card. I have 14 x $20 that I never knew went thru and want credit for 13. Damn daughter made me try to get her $20 worth when she couldn't get into the site.

Never again kid.

I got charged three times, and they haven't posted the winning number yet. Luckily I am only out forty extra bucks.

I had 1 surprise charge(wanted 2). I did some for my mom and she got 3 extras(wanted 1). Not a big deal, were happy with the extra chances it gave us and it goes to a good cause but I feel for the people who really got dinged by the glitch.

Be a good story to tell that the only way you won the 50/50 was because of a computer glitch.

It all depended on how many times you got to the payment page and the system timed out. I was trying to buy a 60 for $20 group for a period and a half and I guess I hit go 13 times. Charged for every one even tho there was no indication payment had been processed.

I think what it comes down to is the Oilers IT provider is roughly as capable as the guys that have been running the team for 20 years. Doubt either could organize a sock drawer if the chips were down.

I wouldn’t bother just yet. They have reported that they’re in the process of refunding multiple purchase.

I got timed out when I went to process my payment so I waited to see if I got charged and it was on my credit card statement and then I received an email with all my ticket numbers right after that. I did not proceed to try 15 more times after that...…..

Just got an email that states you have until noon on August 13th to get a refund.
If you were overcharged, go get the refund on the overcharge and those tickets will be voided.

Dear Hockey Fans:

Thank you for participating in the unprecedented Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation’s Re/Max online 50/50 raffle on Friday, August 7. The winning ticket has yet to be drawn and all tickets remain valid for the largest 50/50 raffle in sports history.

We understand the frustration created by the delay in resolution. We are excited to announce the winning ticket number once we resolve the many inquiries we received since Friday.

Given the systems challenges with our service provider, we are going to offer you the chance to void any ticket purchases over the coming days, starting on Monday, August 10 and closing on Thursday, August 13 at 12:00 PM MT. Your money for any void tickets will then be returned into your bank account shortly thereafter. Once all the requests for void tickets are entered, we will draw the lucky winner.

Here are the options available to you:
  • If you received your email confirmation(s) and would like to keep all of your tickets valid in the draw, no further action is required.
  • If, due to errors with the website, you received multiple email confirmations and charges, please forward your email confirmation for any tickets charged in error that you wish to be cancelled to Void5050@EdmontonOilers.com. Do not send tickets you wish to keep to this address. Any tickets that you want voided will be refunded to you. This address will not reply to inquiries and can only accept confirmation orders.
  • If for any reason you wish to cancel your tickets, please forward your email confirmation to Void5050@EdmontonOilers.com.
  • If you would like another copy of your ticket confirmation or believe you did not receive a confirmation email for any charged tickets, please email Confirm5050@EdmontonOilers.com and your tickets will be resent. Please note we require 3 critical items to resend your tickets: First name, last name and email address to complete this action. This address will not reply to inquiries and can only accept the 3 critical items. Please use the same information you used to purchase your tickets to avoid any errors or confusion. If after you have gone through that process and you do not want to keep those tickets, please send to Void5050@EdmontonOilers.com and we will void them for you.
Even if you have already sent us a request to void your tickets, you must follow the steps above to ensure we are able to accurately process your request.

All requests for refunds/voids must be received by no later than Thursday, August 13, at 12 noon MT.

If you have any additional questions about your Re/Max online 50/50 raffle tickets please contact us at 5050@edmontonoilers.com.

Your support of the Re/Max online 50/50 raffle will help many charitable activities in our community when it is needed most. Thank you for your ongoing support and your patience throughout this process.

I thought their IT service provider was probably a couple of guys with some old Novell servers in Westlock but no. Check out www.ascendfs.com. this company runs online charity fundraising programs world wide including some NFL teams. Seems they way underestimated Albertan's penchant for hope and a prayer. I spent my $20 and am now looking a new boats...

Every draw was won by a ticket with the A prefix, every draw I bought tickets online for, the tickets had the prefix B. Seems odd or I am a conspiracy theorist.lol

I believe that the 200 tic's for $60 all started with the letter A, the 60 tic's for $20 started with the letter B...etc

Prophet River is going to be very happy next week AND if anyone needs to reach me I'll be in the Yukon for the next 2 months. Then in the States. Then Mexico, drinking and carousing with senoritas cuz, who cares about Coues deer. Then Argentina, New Zealand, then maybe home for a couple of days next summer.

Later suckas.
