Default Canadian National Trappers Alliance

Is anyone here a member? I was just looking at their site and see that membership is $20 a year and it also gives you $2,000,000 liability insurance. This seems cheap to me and a national voice would be a good thing.

Your thoughts?

Thanks for the info. That's a bargain for the insurance alone. I just printed a mambership form to send in. Jim

Default Cnta

Wish everyone would join this. We are in desperate need a true national voice. There is rumblings about reopening the trap standards and the only voice we presently have is the Fur Instatute of Canada (FIC) and they are the ones that did it the last time with little or no regard for the trapper. For those who are not aware--the Ontario Fur Managers Federation (OFMF) has more members than all other provincial trappers organizations in Canada combined. It is probably the most powerful trappers organization in all of North America other than the NTA in the US and that might even be debaitable. The OFMF is very strongly supporting the CNTA however we need strong support right across Canada to deal with national issues and have a stronger voice at the national and all provincial levels. The new president of the CNTA (Bill Davies) was one of the founders of the OFMF, he wrote thier constitution (for free) and is a very ambitious, very clever and a great leader.
Lets not miss this opportunity to FINALLY have some say about the life we all love. There is power in numbers. Every membership counts. Go to

Default Coverage

I believe it is liability coverage only. ie: Someone or their pet gets caught in a trap and and trys to sue you. I do believe however that if the trap was set illegaly that there would be no coverage. Just an example!
