Maybe youd like to wait and see what kind of winter we may or may not have, before asking such questions.

I killed a very heavy 14-1/4" pronghorn in 2017, five minutes into the first day but it was the only 14" buck we saw in two days of scouting. There were plenty of bucks, but they tended to be smaller bucks.I have killed four bucks in that same community pasture over the years,. That being said, I would not even apply until after seeing what kind of winter we have.

Its probably going to be at least 5 years before I get drawn again in Alberta. You can go to Montana and hunt on the reserves for about $150.

Hunted 102/118 and the 142/144/138 zones as well both in 2017. Both hunts were a ton of fun and did really well in both. I like 102/118 for sentimental reasons and enjoy hunting it a ton.

What is your problem Dick? How condescending of you.
118/ 102 is very worthwhile.

It would be my #1 concern when deciding on a pronghorn hunt.

Very good idea.
We didn’t see any super trophies in 102-118 this past season... big reason was the snow and hard winter last year.
My lope went 14”1/4.... I think that’s an average critter.
I’d wait two years....

Don't know if I got two more years to wait for another Antelope hunt it'll be my last one looking at another knee surgery and the way I like to hunt would definitely put a damper on that

I definitely wouldnt be doing a 102/118 hunt. It was a bad winter last year and not that many Antelope around. I toured around 152 and seen a way more Antelope and better quality.

102 was a disappointment for mule deer this year. I should have waited and done more research late spring and last minute before using my priority points.

We hunted the 150s this year archery season I shot a mid 70s goat. But it was tough sledding.

I had my archery tag in 102/118 this year.. I put on a lot of foot miles and seen lots of great antelope. The big boys are around if you get into the less accessible areas. . I killed a real heavey old mid 70s goat.

The goats are in very real trouble if we don't get a mild, mild winter here in the south country. I traveled thousands of kms and scouted/hunted for 3 mths and I've spent my life in antelope country so I do not make this statement flippantly.

wmu 144. ......Tide Lake simply due to the limited number of tags given out vs the other WMU's. with P15, that's where I'd apply.

Ill be looking to do similar next year archery antelope in our near the zone I select for mule deer. Living 8-10hrs from the zone makes it harder to scout but Ill be reaching out to fellow members calling and researching as much area as possible before deciding on what zone to use my priority 5 for mule deer as I lost my mule mounts in the house fire like to replace one with a nice respectable buck.

Given the very difficult winter last year, and With over 400 tags handed out in far south zones for a couple years in a row, with living in and after hunting these zones quite extensively this past season for Antelope and WT, I would definitely agree. I doubt there will be many Trophy big game remaining if there is a hard winter again.

What's the government's thinking in handing so many tags out on a species that's at its very Northern Edge I don't get it

They only give out a couple of non-trophy tags, in order to keep an 'open season' on the books. If they were to eliminate all non-trophy tags, it would be very, very difficult to re-open the season again in the future - if we had a series of mild winters and the population bounced back to what it was in the 80s.
