If you look back pre world war 2 you can easily find the same thing occurring. Hitler and Stalin had quite wide spread appeal amongst many in Europe and North America. Most of that history gets glossed over as a sort of "inconvenient truth" when people look back nostalgically at winning against the fascist regimes.

Putin made Tucker look like a sock puppet, he's no more than a cotton-headed entertainer posing as an intellectual. Journalism is now as shallow as pop-culture, it's more focused on entertainment and making money than it is about telling and explaining the reality of any situation. "The media is the message".

Really? Reciting a Hillary Clinton talking point. Do you not have an opinion of your own?

It's amusing when I observe the coordinated highlights from centralized news organizations like CNN; it becomes evident they're all reading from the same predetermined script. I've noticed multiple sources use Bezmenov's 'useful idiot' reference, among others. For instance, I recall two different outlets using the term 'gobsmacked' to describe Tucker Carlson's actions. The scripting is blatantly obvious.

Ironically, Bezmenov's 'useful idiot' term was originally meant to describe those brainwashed into Marxist-Leninist ideology in post-secondary education, aimed at long-term demoralization and destabilization of society. The leftists among us, like Hillary, have been diligently working to demoralize and destabilize Western society with Marxist-Leninist ideas. Calling Tucker Carlson a 'useful idiot' is the epitome of gaslighting, especially when suggesting he needs to go back to school, the epicenter of such brainwashing. It initially made me laugh out loud at the absurdity when Hillary said it. Seeing it parroted here on A&O, I felt compelled to say something.

There are plenty of opportunities to criticize Tucker Carlson and Vladimir Putin, but I can assure you Tucker is not a 'useful idiot' in the Bezmenov sense. Also, Russia is not subverting the West with Marxist-Leninist ideology anymore. I'd accept an argument that China is though, but many home grown 'useful idiots' are doing a fine job of towing that line without any foreign aid.

The part when Putin was claiming to be Christian. That was funny.

Whole interview seemed pretty soft ball to me. I kept wondering if Putin knew what the questions were going to be beforehand?

Of coarse he did. I wouldn't doubt he gave some of the questions to Tucker.

What I find strange and troubling is everyone's take on it.
All over social media it's;
"Tucker didn't ask enough hard questions."
"Tucker just gave him a podium to speak on."
"Tucker's just a useful idiot."

All tucker did was let a man speak.
What is wrong with peoples own judgement nowadays?
Are some of you so lost in being told what to think for so long that you can't form an opinion just by listening to one speak?
Do we constantly need someone to ask pointed questions with obvious bias to know if someone is full of it?
What happened to the power of perception?
Can we no longer function without someone else telling us what to think of a person?
I for one prefer someone gets turned loose with a microphone. Let them talk. Let them direct the conversation. I'll make up my own mind whether I think they're genuine or not.
Heck, take this board for example. How many members are constantly claiming to be conservatives so most will bend an ear, only to constantly bombard us with lefty B.S.?
Is it any use asking them if they're lefties?

Anyhooo, I think the interview was fine. It gave me some new insight to where Putin's head is at, and I decided that by what Putin was saying, not Tucker.

Putin supports in theory the Orthodox Church in Russia so in his mind he thinks he is Christian. His actions don't justify that label.

LOL!! I'm not sure if Hillary used it but you have to go back a few year further back to it's origin.....

As to my own opinion I think you can tell I believe Tucker Carlson is a modern version of a side show manipulator, that's based his whole career taking advantage of the gullible.

Not that I think as many would watch that one...
If some guy lied about you, called you nasty names, wanted you to give you land to someone while killing your neighbours… would you think it wise to let him set you up further.

Tucker has two speeds.

1. If he likes you then you can say whatever you want while Tucker smiles and nods.

2. If he doesn’t like you then he attacks and attacks while making up stories and passing along lies as truth.

If you believe and agree with Tucker then confirmation bias makes you mask in a warm GLOW.

If you disagree with Tucker then some call you a socialist.

Tucker is an entertainer that is dangerous getting involved in life or death real world problems.

Even Putin laugh when he made fun of Tucker getting refused to join the CIA. lol.

Putin did correct Tuckers lie about other journalists did want to interview Putin.

Absolutely. Tucker didn’t interview Putin like a journalist. All Tucker needed to do was send a camera man. Putin just repeated the same claims over again that he promotes on his state controlled media.

To be honest I have not watched Tucker’s full interviews just his YouTube clips. I know the lefties squirm a bit and he seems like he is polarizing to some. I watched a few of his interviews and listened to the meateater podcast he was on. He is a bit of a sensationalist and a personality. I don’t agree with some of his views but find myself agreeing with many of his points. But I am right wing so maybe that’s why. He got in the door to interview Putin. I am sure many would want that chance.

lol. Putin did a good job. Congrats to Tucker. Two sides on a coin. Western population has not had much two sided conversations. There are better interviews of Putin in the recent year. This is good, we need more dialogue, instead of sending your son, daughter to war. The three sides Russia, NATO, Ukraine need to present there sides. NATO expansion needs questioning.

that would be good info, from those who lived it. Russia in those days was not a friendly place. there were millions who could not leave and felt the wrath of leaders and paid a high price!

Good question. Why would anyone feel it’s necessary to join NATO. Are they crazy to think some country will just invade them out of the blue? Come on now. It’s the 2020’s. Countries don’t do that. Let’s face it… until Russia attacked Ukraine… NATO funding was falling. Countries were complacent with lack of worry about aggressive states coming at them. Everyone is just peaceful these days. Except for Sweden and Finland getting upset for no reason and joining NATO… it was really just a place you went to Christmas Eve to see where Santa was so the kids go to sleep on time.

Putin was a great two way conversationalist with Tucker. Tucker talked and talked and asked probing questions that got to the heart of ancient Russian history. Without that… how could we in North America not understand.

it isn't so much NATO expanding as it is smaller eastern European countries looking for safety. this trend is a direct consequence of the policies which were adopted by the Kremlin after WW2. the western nations immediately invested massive amounts of capital and material to assist Germany, Japan, Italy and other defeated countries to get them back on their feet again, independent and productive. Russia did the exact opposite, subjugating entire countries and plundering the economic output of those conquered lands. Russia never had the social structure or incentives to grow a strong economy and industrial output to benefit its own population. the oligarchs in the Kremlin only sought to line their pockets and the quickest way to accomplish that was to confiscate as much of the production and wealth of the population as possible, leaving only subsistence living conditions. this is the underlying reality, and once the system was established it was exploited by successive thugs and tyrants. so, in a way Putin is right... once a population has the opportunity to leave the dark ages of the Kremlin to join NATO, they will. all the countries that have already left the soviet union have made tremendous advances socially and economically.

Russia has always been a backward, backwater. Back in the 1700's Catherine the Great tried to improve the country by bringing in industrious German farmers to attempt to kick start the local population. The Germans did quite well, but that didn't rub off on the Russians. Ultimately the Germans descendants left (many to Alberta) as it was obvious that the country would never really advance. As you pointed out, Russia has a long history of invading countries, and then dragging them down to their level. The Ukraine is just the latest example.

You can always compare Putin's "history lesson" to this, and those who don't want to read about only need to listen;
