Default Beaver problem

Friend of mind lives out on a farm just north of Edmonton and trying to find a way to rid his beaver problem. Fish and game went out and set some snares but not very well I think cause when he took a walk back there one of them bolted right over it and got away in the creek. What I'm asking if there's a way that a person that's not a trapper can trap and kill these things and what works ?

Pretty sure you can't trap them without a license......................but you can certainly shoot them. Landowner, and anyone approved by landowner is in the clear to take them with a firearm. This would of course mean following all firearm regs in the area.

calm evening and a 12 gauge, with bb shells. that is the most effective way of thinning them out.

I'm surprised the f&w did not recommend a local trapper to help you out.

We trap beaver, coyote etc. for farmers just north of Edmonton. Send a PM if interested.
