Soundgarden front man Chris Cornell dead at 52
Such a tragedy for such a great singer and musician.
He will be sadly missed.
R.I.P. Chris

Sucks. I liked his music. RIP.
They were supposed to headline Friday at Rock on the Range.

The victim was found with a band around his neck, Mr. Freeman said. The police would not confirm that the victim died of a suicide, though the preliminary determination was an “apparent suicide,” Mr. Freeman said. He added that more details would be released in a statement later Thursday

Terrible news. Kurt Cobain and Chris were the leaders of the grunge movement.
RIP Chris!

I was never a real fan of the grunge era but man this guy could make your ears bleed in a good way. Will be remembered as one of the great rock voices. He could really sing. Made some good music along the way too. Another iconic voice silenced.

One of those voices that define an era! With power and skill often comes sadness. That's the natural order of the universe I spose.
RIP!

I always thought he had one of the best voices out there, having the ability to be quiet and nuanced or belt it out with intensity. Sad.

And then suicide. What a loss.

x2 on this, IMO he was the Steven Tyler of the 90's... and much like Steven Tyler his incredible voice was backed by some very talented and creative musicians. Unlike Steven Tyler he didn't seem to recognise when he had a good thing going...
Very sad to see him go, his next non-solo venture would probably have kicked as much ass as his last 3 or 4. Very odd way to go out.

Just Terrible
I hopped the Black Ball many a Friday in my youth. Queensryche still played in town between albums, but it was Soundgarden and Mother Love Bone that kept us raiding the south. Other bands would follow.
Ahh youth.
RIP Andrew Wood
RIP Kurt Cobain
RIP Chris Cornell
A generation was moved.

rip chris
he was laid to rest today, well, I missed this thread and love his music. I posted this video 3 years ago of our cat hunts set to Chris's powerful voice. I've had on loop tonight as well as old soundgarden. ~chain
