Default fishing the Sheep Okotoks area

Hi guys.
Just wondering if anybody has had any luck on the Sheep recently. Not been out this year yet, so was hoping to get some pointers please?
Also if possible, would be great to get some pointers on fishing for whitefish, baits and tactics. Not managed to land one yet.
All help and info would be much appreciated
Many thanks
Gibbo

The whites in there will start to stack up soon for their fall migration. I've always had good results with a prince nymph or anything else black with white wings. The real key to getting the whites is making sure that your nymphs have some weight to get down to the bottom. There are some deep holes in Sheep and the whites are always right at the bottom. I've been to some holes where I couldn't reach the bottom with my 9ft leader.

There are some massive bulls in there so watch when you hook in to a white. I've had a bull inhale a 16 inch white that I had on the line and I had to almost beach the white to get the bull to let go.

Lots of times when I fish the Sheep I will bring two rods with me, one 6-7wt loaded with a massive bunny streamer (the bigger the better) just for those massive bulls.

Ahhh interesting guys, thank you.
I went this morning, had a couple of knocks but didn't hook anything.
I was thinking of running a bug lure through this hole I found, because I could see the Bulls just cruising around.
Ok I maybe going in the week, so will let you know
thanks
