Default What arrows do you prefer for hunting?

What carbon arrows do you prefer for hunting? (whitetail etc.)

I have always bought a mid range arrow such as a Beeman ICS Hunter or Redhead Maxima. The price seems good for what you get, accuracy has been good and I myself have not seen much need to spend more.

Am I missing out by not atleast giving a high end arrow a chance?
I am consider something like Gold Tip ProHunter.

Do you get what you pay for, or is the extra expense unneccessary for the average hunter/casual 3D?

Default Arrows

Short answer is NO. As long as you have the bow tuned to the arrow and she flies straight the animals and the target don't care. Played the arrow game twice, once with aluminium and once with carbon. In over 30 years I can say pick a midrange, say 40-50 bucks a half dozen and shoot them.

Default Gold Tip

I recently went through picking new arrows for my new bow. I hunt and shoot a bit of 3D. I ended up going with Gold Tip XT Hunters. From what I have read they are a tough arrow, the price is nice at about $100/12 Fletched (Jimbow's in Calgary), these are a 3 thou straight arrow which I think is plenty for the average shooter.

I have shot mine a couple time and they seem fine so far. I bought another dozen on a trip to the states for 80 bucks. Hopefully it takes a while to go through all of them.

I shoot Gold Tip Expedition Hunters. Same arrow as the XT Hunter. but cheaper, because of the +-.006 Straightness. I cut them to 26.5 inches, so the straightness isn't an issue for me.

I shoot trophy ridge wraths but cannot find them again for the life of me.

Dad likes the trophy ridge velocities.

I need to find another arrow.

I really like them. I found they group very well and killed everything I wanted on a recent hunt in Texas. Easy to tune with broadheads

I like arrows around 9 - 9.5 gpi.
I just bought some axis n-fused. I like the slim shaft. Haven't shot them yet however. But have high hopes.

Still with the CX Blue streaks also...the REDs are nice but just too much red for me...I like to make the Blues Red myself...lol
But nothing but great reports from the REDs... except they are costly...
